On Crosby Sands

Crosby Sands is where the Gormleys stand.

They stare out to sea slowly covered by the rising tides

encrusted  and rusted they mark no channel

but iron-magnet draw people to them. _R059482-1

tide wide and mud footed they stand apart

drown’d on evry moon rise and it’s echo

who’s vanity is multiplied here?

the marker or the marked?
