Smaller lighter…

With reliable wind and light still in short supply the tinkering continues. The Ricoh GR is fast becoming a favourite, video is only one of it’s strengths, it has a really good AF\AE performance and the short flight at Katwijk exploited the light weight body with good resolution imagery.

Using plastic angle section for the pivot bar was successful, at least on the first flight.

The top plate is cut from plastic angle section, pan gear uses a brass eyelet for wear reduction.

The deep flange provides both stiffness and mounting for the pan servo.IMG_0203

Tilt is pivoted on 2 L pieces, shutter by GentWire. The target weight is under 500g. Fitting the tilt servo is next…
